Somatic cables are warforged components designed to be embedded in the torso of a warforged. They are actually a small mass of writhing metal cables attached to the chest of a warforged. When in use, they twist about one another in a unique arcane configuration. The give the warforged the ability to cast spells that require a somatic component without the warforged using his or her hands.[1]

Edit
Somatic cables are able to be activated with a swift action through mental command. These cables allow a warforged to cast spells even with both hands occupied, when its hands are immobilized, or when it is grappled by another creature or object, though this still requires a Concentration check. In addition, since the somatic cables work independent outside the warforged's armor, a warforged who suffers from a spell failure chance due to his or her armor can roll twice, taking the better of the two results.[1]
