Silver Lake is a freshwater lake lying on the border between the Eldeen Reaches in the north and Breland in the south. A river flows from Silver Lake to Lake Galifar by way of a river that runs near the towns of Erlaskar and Xandrar.[1][2][3]

Geography[]

From Ranruunwood, Shavalant Creek flows into Silver Lake.[4][3] The Silver River flows from Silver Lake to Lake Galifar by way of a river that runs near the towns of Erlaskar and Xandrar.[1][2][4][3]

Notable Location[]

The Eldeen Reaches settlements of Sylbaran, Greenblade, and Erlaskar lie from west to east on the northern shore of Silver Lake.[1]

The Brelish settlement of Shavalant lies near the southern shore, and to the southwest is the fort of Orcbone.[1][2] More than a dozen estates belonging to Brelish noble families lie along the southern shore.[5] The Brelish shore of Silver Lake is also one of the stops of the mobile fortress Argonth.[6]

History[]

In the Last War, Silver Lake was crossed by Brelish forces to invade what was then Aundair, taking Sylbaran, Greenblade, and Erlaskar.[7] In 959 YK, the forces of the newly independent Eldeen Reaches battled Brelish troops on the lake's north shore in the Battle of Silver Lake. The Brelish forces were outmaneuvered and forced to fall back across the lake.[8]

A chuul brood once dwelled in Silver Lake, but they were destroyed decades ago by Vashkal the Black, an orc mystagogue of the Gatekeepers.[9]

In 988 YK, fourteen of the Brelish noble families with estates on Silver Lake's southern shore declined to contributing their manorial guards to help break a siege of Six Kings led by Droaam, for fear of Thrane advances in the north.[5]

Ten years later, the Brelish Parliament worked to pass the Silver Lake Attainder Decree to mandate the forfeiture of the estates belonging to those families to the Brelish crown. It's expected to pass by the end of the month of Nymm.[5]
