The ranger is a skilled hunter and tracker with a strong affinity for the wild. They often use only natural armor and clothing and benefit from one or more animal companions.

In Eberron, rangers can be found across Khorvaire, but are especially concentrated in the forests of the Eldeen Reaches and the marshes and fens of the Shadow Marches. Half-orcs and orcs are often rangers, but shifters are especially suited to the class, which is their favored class.

Among the Dragonmarked Houses, House Vadalis and House Tharashk are most likely to produce rangers.
