The Orphanage was a secret House Cannith facility in Karrnath during the Last War. According to information released after the facility's destruction in a creation forge accident in Therendor, 992 YK, while most Cannith facilities were working on mass production of rank and file warforged units, the Orphanage facility was researching the warforged mind and ways to enhance construct intelligence.[1]
