This Dungeons & Dragons core rulebook introduces an innovative monster stat block format that makes running monsters easier for the Dungeon Master. Monster Manual 3 also presents a horde of iconic monsters that fit easily into any campaign, including:
- New variants of existing monsters, such as the gnoll war fang, the ogre dreadnought, and the putrid slaad.
- Updates of popular and iconic monsters from previous editions, including the cloaker, the nalfeshnee demon, the mimic, the quasit, the rot grub, and the thri-kreen.
- Catastrophic dragons, including the earthquake dragon and the volcanic dragon.
