Kandler was once a fighter for the nation of Breland during the Last War. During the war, Kandler met an elf named Esprina, and Esprina's elven daughter Esprë. Kandler and Esprina married, though Esprina died shortly after. Kandler was forced to raise Esprë alone; a task made much more difficult when Esprë manifests the long lost Mark of Death.^[1]
