While they are not alive, the deathless are not considered traditional undead. While traditional undead are infused with the essence of Mabar, making them evil, deathless are infused with the essence of Irian, which makes them naturally good. Deathless, like living creatures, are healed by positive (divine) energy and are harmed by negative (necromantic) energy. The process of becoming deathless is a secret held by the elves of Aerenal in the Undying Court.
